There is no shortage of things to do in Deer Isle Stonington. Not only are there art galleries, shops, Haystack School of Crafts, Acadia National Park, fine restaurants, beautiful sunsets, gorgeous islands, hiking parks and bicycle trails, there is also Stonington harbor, now becoming one of the premier paddling and boating spots in the country. There are over 60 islands in a 10 by 10 mile area. Of these 60 islands some 34 are open to the public for hiking, picnicking, and camping.
